New Facebook and Linkedin group pages

Dear friends,

I wish you all a great new year and hope to meet more frequently as the club. For that purpose I would like to announce you that I have created group pages on Facebook and Linkedin for the club.

Other than that I believe it would be a good start for 2010 to have a networking event soon to bring all new and old alumni together. Also for prospective students, we can organize an event to promote LBS as a great MBA destination for attracting more higher quality Turkish people, thanks to the number one position of LBS in last year’s financial times rankings.

London Business School Worldwide Alumni Celebration Day 2009

Dear Friends,

By next Thursday the 24th of September, we will have our 5th Annual Worldwide Alumni Celebration in Istanbul. As the alumni leaving in Turkiye, we are meeting at the Sunset Bar at 19:00. Please do kindly confirm your participation as early as possible since it is a very active season esp due to delegations and press coming earlier for the IMF-World Bank Meetings.

In the past, we had successfully organised either guests speakers dinner or boat trips. This time, we will overview the Bosphourous with all its beauty. There might be some surprises. London Business School Worldwide Alumni Celebration Istanbul 2007 sponsored by Acibadem

I would like to announce that we have a fascinating occasion this time for the Wolrdwide Alumni Celebration in Istanbul. We will have a boat trip at the Bosphorus accompanied with an Iftar dinner. Thanks to Acibadem Medical Group, they were so kind to accept sponsorship for our event. (www.acibademinternational.com)

The event will take place on 27 September 2007. The boat will be ready to pick up the guests between 18:00 and 18:15 from Bebek Parki at Bebek. Please adhere to the timings because we would like to have the tour and photos before the sunset. The food service will start at 19:00 at iftar time while touring on the Bosphorus.

The capacity will be limited around 20 people. So, please let me know about your attendance via email or phone as soon as possible. If you have important guests to invite, please let us know ahead.

The monthly gathering of June took place in Sunset with the beautiful view of Bosphorus and delicious summer cocktails. It was great to have the opportunity to meet new people and catch up with friends.

We had the first of the monthly gatherings at Vogue restaurant on 30 May 2007 in an amazing atmosphere with the view of the full moon and Bosphorus while enjoying our drinks. It was really cool to meet again some great new people and develop the boundaries between current alumni in Istanbul.

Next networking event will be on 28 June 2007 in Sunset Restaurant.

Strategy meeting outcomes on May 05, 2007

We held the strategy meeting with the attendance of Sevdil, Faik, Kurt, Umit, Baris, Ece, Aysegul and Oguzhan. First of all we would like to thank to Faik for his lovely hosting.

Brainstorming meeting on May 5 2007

We will be meeting on Saturday, the 5th of May, in Levent Istanbul. Nowadays, we have lots of subjects to talk within ourselves, on top of these comes the Turkish people’s favourite one, i.e. politics. This time the purpose of our gathering is to define strategies and action plan for our LBS Club, which I believe, would eventually serve for the intellectual life of our country.

To warm up for the agenda of our meeting, please find attached the survey, for which we expect to receive your feedbacks before Saturday. You could also give the printed copy of your replies on Saturday before the start of our meeting.

As I briefly mentioned in my previous email, the planned programme of the meeting is to start at 2 pm with getting together and introducing ourselves. It will contniue with idea generation and feedback on proposed projects, and define new ones. Needless to say, we aim to have a nice social gathering beyond tea and coffee breaks within the planned sessions. In order to leave more space for the aftermath, we plan to finalise our technical programme at 4.30 pm. And then, we will continue enjoying life in Istanbul. Oguzhan has creative ideas for having fun together.
